2D Animation

2D animation course expose students to the technology needed in the production of two dimensional animation. Students learn how to utilize technical features of Adobe Animation cc using keyframes, vector graphics, and symbols to construct hierarchy of elements set for motion. Students will also learn to utilize Animation cc for drawing and illustration using its built-in tools for vector output. This course will provide the students the much needed skills to make a 2D element spring to life. Aside from a stand-alone 2D animation, student’s creative output from this discipline can also be deployed in film and game development.

3D Animation using Blender

3D animation using Blender is a course intended to offer students technical skills and knowledge in producing computer generated three dimensional images. It provides an understanding of the technical process that goes with the construction and development of a 3D output. In this course, we will explore and learn construction and modeling of a 3D object, texturing, animation, lighting, and rendering. The course will provide a good foundation in producing 3D based projects using open source technology in the field of animation, film, architecture, industrial design, game development.

3D Animation using Maya

3D animation using Maya will introduce students in the powerful tools of Maya for 3D content creation: modeling, animation, texturing, lighting and rendering. They will also develop an understanding of the Maya major toolset to create and edit 3D objects, apply textures and UV maps, setup a character to execute basic to advance motion. The course will empower the students and align their skillset with the industry standard technology in the field of 3D animation, film, game development.

Non Linear Video Editing

This course introduces digital video editing of video clips captured using, not just from standard video cameras, but also from those alternative devices like smartphones. Course topics include the concepts of nonlinear digital editing with emphasis on the principles and aesthetics of film through the utilization of tools and features of Final Cut Pro. The course will enable the students to edit, not just videos, but also animation, sound, graphic elements, and a combination of all disciplines mentioned to create a rich media.

Sound Design & Engineering

The topics covered in this course create an overview of the fundamental principles of sound and the factors that define how we perceive sound. The students will learn the technical process and technique of capturing and controlling the quality of audio through recording, mixing, processing, synthesis, sampling, and editing of digital audio using Pro Tools. After taking the course, students will be capable of applying different editing techniques for audio for use in film, animation, digital games, web-based media, and music performances.

Photography (mobile photography)

Photography using iPhone technology will empower the students to aesthetically capture precious moments using their mobile devices. By teaching and applying the standard principles in photography adhered to by professional photographers, students will b enable to practice serious photography without spending much on technology.

Digital Painting

This course offers the students technical skills, knowledge and technique to create a lay-out and composition in preparation for color application by way of Adobe Photoshop. The course will cover the importance of tonal value, perspective, color theory and its application, as well as the digital tools like brushes & textures and layers in Photoshop. The course will enable the students to create the illusion of three dimensional space in a two dimensional plane, which can be a stand-alone digital work of art, or an integral part of a scene in an animation, film, architecture render, digital games.

Cartooning & Comics Illustration

This course teaches students how to use techniques to create believable characters that can carry a story. The students will learn how to develop, not just characters, but also other unique visual props by illustrating what they look like, the personality, the design, and how they contribute to a story. The principles of human anatomy will be covered in the discussions to understand the fundamentals of the human form and how to reinterpret it creatively to be used for comics, animation, and games.

Creative Writing

This course explores the basic principles of Creative Writing. It provides a comprehensive coverage of the important elements of penning essays, short stories, and poems. The detailed instruction and practices provided in each lesson allow students to harness their inherent creativity in using words. In so doing, they learn how to convey powerful moving messages through arresting narratives and other forms of creative communication. . The literary piece that the students create through this course can be fine-tuned for different media like comics, film and animation.
